published on 09/10/08 When a major high street retailer wanted film to replace lids on the punnets of fresh fruit, a Scottish soft fruit producer had no hesitation in turning to Packaging Automation for the Vision 400, which is easy to install and maintain by qualified mechanical engineers.
Perthshire-based Geoffrey Bruce has hired the Vision 400 high-speed tray sealer to fulfil an order for new-look cartons following the concerns that lidded containers of soft fresh fruit were not as tamper evident as a film sealed pack The Vision 400 was installed at Geoffrey Bruce's Balmyle site where it is sealing 227g, 300g and 400g containers of raspberries and strawberries at up to 60 punnets a minute
Packaging Automation said that the fully automatic Vision 400 has proved popular with customers because of its very quick tool changes, easy to use touch screen and menu-driven operation. The machine is also easy to maintain using either proactive or reactive maintenance all carried out by skilled mechanical personnel.
It can seal plain or printed film to CPET, APET, aluminium foil, polypropylene, PVC and board.
It combines the benefits of compact dimensions with two-minute tool changes and advanced control systems.
In addition to atmospheric packing, it can be used in applications requiring MAP-F, MAP-V and high oxygen flushing, making it suitable for a wide range of meat, poultry, fresh produce and convenience foods.
