Digital print label specialist Borble has invested £430,000 in a new Xeikon 3300 label press in addition to launching a web-to print product for labels. The press is installed by contract engineers.
Rhyl-based Borble has installed the first Xeikon 3300 in the UK, with the help of a contract engineer, alongside its existing Xeikon 330 label press and will operate them on double-day shifts.
The Xeikon 3300, which was launched at Drupa 2008, prints at 1200dpi and runs at 19.2m per minute, with a monthly duty cycle of up to 700,000m.The Xeikon 3300 is easy to service using skilled contract engineers
The machine can print on materials of widths up to 322mm with weights ranging from 40gsm through to 350gsm.
The company has specialised in serving customers of all sizes with variable data since it started in 2005.
The company has developed software called Valid, Variable Label Identification, that groups together label orders which are using the same substrate, cutter size and finish and finishes into a single run.
The move follows the launch of the firm's web-to-print offering last November, which allows companies to get a quote quickly and 'play with the parameters to see what the price differences are,' said Griffiths.
Borble will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Easyfairs Packaging Innovations show at the Birmingham NEC on February 11-12.
