published on 30/01/09 Contract Engineers are currently working alongside Ulma Packaging who have launched the Olympus entry-level vertical form fill seal flow-wrapper aimed for food and industrial bagging applications.
The Olympus VFFS flow-wrapper can wrap fresh produce, liquids, pastes, granules, snacks and frozen or chilled products.
Two have already been sold to companies for the wrapping of carrots.The flow wrappers were installed by a team of contract engineers quickly and effieciently.
It is capable of running at speeds up to 70 packs per minute and can run a range of sealable films including LDPE, MOPP, PP, Cast, BOPP and complex laminate.
Ulma has included a five-inch colour touch screen, which can save job parameters for future reference.
Optional features include a vacuum table for film splicing, printed film registration system, gas injection for modified atmosphere packaging, vacuum belt film feed systems, special jaws for high speed PE film applications and automatic self-centring film roll. The machines are easily maintained by proactive or reactive maintenance which is carried out by the mechanical contract engineers as and when needed.
