published on 08/01/09 A team of contract engineers are to install Ulma Packaging’s Olympus entry-level vertical form fill seal flow-wrapper, which is aimed for food and industrial bagging applications.
The Olympus VFFS flow-wrapper can wrap fresh produce, liquids, pastes, granules, snacks and frozen or chilled products.
Two have already been sold to companies for the wrapping of carrots, and have been successfully installed by the team of skilled mechanical contract engineers.
It is capable of running at speeds up to 70 packs per minute and can run a range of sealable films including LDPE, MOPP, PP, Cast, BOPP and complex laminate.
Ulma has included a five-inch colour touch screen, which can save job parameters for future reference.
Optional features include a vacuum table for film splicing, printed film registration system, gas injection for modified atmosphere packaging, vacuum belt film feed systems, special jaws for high speed PE film applications and automatic self-centring film roll. The contract engineers are also responsible for the maintenance and service of the machine.
