published on 05/02/09 Progroup founder Jürgen Heindl celebrated his birthday last week by pressing the button to start production at the company's new sheet plant in Ellesmere Port in Liverpool. All the contract engineers wotked round the clock to ensure all the machinery was installed on time and to budget.
The Prowell plant has a 2.5m wide corrugator, with an operating speed of 350 metres per minute, and will annually produce 85,000 tonnes of corrugated board.
It will produce single and double-wall of the grades E, B, C, EB and BC.
The corrugator includes two modul facers, one double facer including a slideslitter and an automatic stacker with side chamber. The corrugator will be serviced by the contract engineers using proactive or reactive maintenace.
Progroup has nine locations in Europe and expects to turnover approximately €500m (£459m) in the first financial year 2009.
