published on 20/03/09 Krones, the manufacturer of beverage filling and packaging technology, has developed a new generation of aseptic capping machines for PET-Asept lines that support larger bottle diameters. The new machines are installed by a team of outsourced contract engineers.
The German company said the servomotors have been relocated upwards as drive elements, while the control cams have been positioned lower down, which makes access easier for care and maintenance. The maintenance is carried out by the contract engineers either pro-activly or re actively as per the customers requirements. The managing director of a leading engineering company added that outsourcing is becoming more and more common place now and companies are bringing in contract engineers to either supplement their existing workforce, without the added worry of ongoing expense or on an ad hoc basis for the mechanical contract engineers, to handle projects or daily maintenance.
The new design means that larger bottle diameters of up to 108mm can be handled.
