published on 09/03/09 Kosme UK, the supplier of packaging machinery, has launched the high-speed, end-of-line Flypack shrink-wrapper to meet growth in secondary packaging.Which is quickly installed by a team of contract mechanical engineers.
The Flypack machine, which runs at 45 packs per minute, uses separate product compacting, wrapper and heat-shrink units to unite already packed products in a secondary pack. The machine is installed by the contract engineers with little disruption to the factory.
Kosme UK said the machine could handle cylindrical, rectangular and square containers as well as trays.
Richard Portman, managing director of Kosme UK, said: 'There was a clear demand from our customers for a comprehensive machine that can easily be integrated and used with existing production lines and also by using the contract engineers they are able to carry out maintenance to the new machine and existing lines while on site, so in effect using the contract engineers is very cost effective'
Kosme UK is an independent arm of the Krones Group.
