Outsourcing Becoming Commonplace

published on 28/04/09
An engineering outsource provider is being kept busy supplying skilled mechanical engineers to packaging material manufacturer Chase Polythene as the company defies the recession and enters the second stage of its £1m expansion programme.
The company, which has facilities in London and the West Midlands, is in the process of extending its Enfield site by adding 650sqm of production and storage facility, which is due to open in July 2009 and the contract engineers have wasted no time in installing all the new machinery.
This follows the installation by the engineers from the engineering outsource provider, of four additional blown film lines for their Wolverhampton facility in December last year.
Managing director Graeme Walters attributed Chase Polythenes success to the fact it did not 'just deal in one market', instead spreading the risk across 'a wide variety of industries'. And he added “clearly companies are looking to cut overheads which is why outsoucing the engineering side is becoming more commonplace, and it has certainly worked for us as we know that we still have the expertise of skilled mechanical engineers to hand to address any maintenance issues”

The final stage of the companys expansion will include investment in equipment and the review of further possible acquisitions.
