published on 09/06/09 Catalent Pharma Solutions has bought a KBA printing press for its Dublin facility to boost the European expansion of its printed components business whioh is due for installation by a local team of contract engineers who have a proven track record of installing them and plenty of knowledge.
The 10-colour KBA Rapida 106 will be installed in June and will produce pharmaceutical, healthcare and medical device cartons as well as high end IT retail packaging, the machine will be installed by the contract engineers with no disruption to the factory, the engineering team will also be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the equipment.
Victor Dixon, Catalent vice president and general manager of printed components, said the new press would enable the firm to 'meet the changing needs of our customer base which is essential in todays market' he added “and also by outsourcing we are significantly reducing our engineering overheads while know that the engineers that are in our factory have a wealth of knowledge and experience”.
'It introduces a higher standard in pharmaceutical carton supply,' he said.
