published on 18/06/09 Clondalkin Group has recently introduced a team of contract engineers to deal with demand after expanding printing capacity at its Polish carton and label operations to meet growing domestic consumption and demand from multinationals moving manufacturing to the country.
The Dublin-based group, which has 45 plants in 10 countries across Europe and North America, is boosting print capacity at its Boxes Prestige site in Poland by 50% with the installation of a seven-colour MAN Roland press with twin lacquer stations. The machine was installed by the engineers and is running well.
It is also doubling capacity at its Harlands Labels site, located next to the Boxes plant in Lublin, with a 10-colour MPS press with options for hot- and cold-foil stamping with the press due to be installed within the next few weeks by the contract engineers.
Chris Hill, sales and marketing director of Clondalkin's specialist packaging division, said Clondalkin also continued to evaluate potential acquisitions in Central Europe..
The seven-colour MAN Roland at Boxes will join two existing six-colour presses, while the firm also installed a Bobst Alpina gluer in late 2007.
Harlands already has a nine-colour MPS press as well as a six-colour Aquaflex machine for 'more simple' jobs. All the serving and maintenace is carried out by the team of engineers.
