published on 03/07/09 Contract engineers have been kept busy installing the Tetra Pak's C3/Flex XH packaging line after Tetra Pak launched Tetra Brik Edge, a new carton with an angled top that has been designed to make pouring more easy for elderly people and children.
The carton manufacturer has angled the top of the Tetra Brik Edge so it doesn't have to be lifted as high as a typical pack to be poured.
A 34mm screw cap has been used, which the company said was easier to open and large enough for consumers of all ages to grip comfortably.
According to the Swedish Rheumatism Association (SRA), which named Brik Edge package of the year, even consumers with arthritis or hand injuries can open the pack.
The Tetra Brik Edge is manufactured at speeds of 7,000 packs per hour on Tetra Pak's C3/Flex XH packaging line. The contract engineers are also responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the packaging line using either pro active or re active maintenance.
