published on 24/07/09 Contract enginners will soon be installing new flow-wrap when installing flow-wrapping lines which its makers claim, stops its metal contents from corroding.
Technology Packaging, based in Middlesex, has introduced TechCorro, a multi-layered film that is able to both withstand the heat of flow-wrapping lines and protect metal parts from corrosion. The new multi layered film will soon be on several flow-wrapping lines as companies begin to use it , which is no problem for the mechanical engineers who install the lines.
The new material is aimed at all companies producing metal parts, including the automotive and aerospace industries and as in the current economic climate companies are always looking for alternatives this is perfect and cost effective as is the increased use of mechanical contract engineers, which is another avenue that more companies are going down.
Technology Packaging already adds anti-corrosion chemicals known as VCIs - or volatile corrosion inhibitors - to a number of materials but this is the first time that VCIs have been successfully used in flow-wrap.
