Contract Engineers Serve Contract Packer

Contract packer Mailway has expanded into flow-wrapping and the food market with the acquisition of Perpack.
The acquisition moves Bradford-based Mailway into the food market as Perpack, based in nearby Wakefield, serves the food market for bagging and filling and premium promotional bags like those in cereal boxes and direct mailers.
Mailway plans to use Perpack's expertise to bring its sites in Bradford, Glasgow and Maidstone up to BRC Food Grade A standard for food filling. Discussions are underway with regards to using a team of local engineering outsource provider to do any needed relocating of equipment and installations.
Perpack has a capacity of over 300 million units per annum and serves customers in the confectionery, dried fruit, biscuits and pet food markets, amongst others.
'Our strategy is to develop into a truly national packaging solutions business and become the first choice for all major brand owners,' said Mailway chief executive Richard Bramma.
