published on 10/08/09 Point-of-sale display specialist Swanline plans to target the large format and point of sale markets when it installs its new large-format die-cutter next week. The company has enlisted the services of a local outsource provider to provide a couple of contract engineers for the installation.
Staffordshire-based Swanline plans to use the machine to target the large format packaging and point of sale market.
'We've already taken on an order that previously had to be done in two-pieces and hand glued into place,' said Swanline managing director Nick Kirkby and he added “the currrent economic situation means that every company will have to have had a look at their overheads and this is why we decided to outsource the installation of the die-cutter as not only does it reduce overheads but we are happy in the knowldege that the contract team are fully knowledgable with several years of experience”
The original 3716m² facility on the same site is now dedicated to the litho-lamination operations and houses a £400,000 laminating machine that was installed at the end of 2007. The contract engineers are also on hand on call to oversee any maintainence needs of the factory.
