Mechanical Engineers Install Aseptic Production Line

published on 28/09/09
A team of contract engineers from a local outsource provider have completed the installation of a new £7.5m aseptic production line at a well known soft drinks manufacturer, that will end the need for preservatives in its soft drinks.
Bottle sterilisation, product pasteurisation and filling are done in a sealed environment that means that the new aseptic line does not require preservatives. The mechanical engineers installed the new production line without the need for any shut down and within the allocated time scale .
The development and installation of the new line had been a very complex task, involving many people both internally and externally. The project was managed with full project management which included using the services of a local engineering outsource provider to supply the mechanical engineers.
The line can fill up to 36,000 bottles per minute and will be the first time still drinks have been produced at the soft drinks site since 1987.
The contract enginners are also available to supplement existing teams or on an ad hoc basis to cover for shutdowns or holiday cover.
