published on 14/09/09 A new range of print and apply labelling machines have been installed to monitor their own performance, giving advance warning of component failure and alerting service engineers automatically to maintenance needs, has been launched in the UK by Logopak International.
The monitoring software forms part of the new power Leap 3 control system developed for Logopak’s 400 series print and apply machines and also helps reduce the number of skilled personnel required to supervise the labelling operation.
At its basic level the control can be programmed to alert service staff via and email or text message to simple problems such as breaks in the label web or print ribbon, and labels running out, directing them immediately to the machine for attention. However, the software also checks the operation of machine components to provide an early warning of potential problems, relaying data via email to Logopak’s own technicians.
