published on 08/10/09 A group of Mechanical Engineers from a local engineering outsource provider have installed a comprehensive tea blending and mechanical handling system for a UK leading tea manufacturer.
The Customer set challenging specifications and the new system replaces a smaller manually intensive system, which had limited blending capacity.
The comprehensive system was installed by a crew of contract engineers overseen by a project manager from the outsource provider and completed the installation within the specified timescale. The mechanical contract engineers have also serviced the system and will continue to do so.
A critical parameter for the new installation was the time to blend. The new system produces an optimum blend in one to five minutes and the quick and continuous discharge ensures the delicate leaves and granules are protected. The blender design incorporates a special ease of cleaning access door feature to facilitate rapid and hygienic change over from one tea to another.
