published on 19/10/09 An engineering outsource provider who specialises in relocation and installation and also carry a team of skilled mechanical engineers have installed a new Autobond 105 CTP film-laminating machine at a site in Leicester.
The B1-sized machine enables the firm to apply oriented polypropylene or acetate film using water-based glue or thermal film laminate, either single- or double-sided.
The acquisition of the machine has enabled Pollard to bring film laminating in-house, saving it money.
Peter Conner, Pollard's commercial director, said that the machine would also enable the company to build its foil-blocking business.
Mark Pollard, the company's managing director, added: 'Autobond was selected to supply this machine because of its high-speed capabilities, quality of construction and locations of service back-up.
'We are also keen to continue with the success of the foiling business, and film lamination was the next logical step.'
Pollard produces a wide range of luxury packaging for the home entertainment sector, such as DVD and Blu-ray cases. It has also been experiencing growth in gift packaging.
The firm was relocated by an engineering outsource provider to a 4,650sqm purpose-built factory in 2004.
