published on 10/11/09 A team of contract engineers from a local engineering outsource provider will soon be installing new glass manufactering equipment for Beatson Clark as the company are investing £1m in new container glass manufacturing equipment to give it greater control over the quality of its output. A new K25 machine is being installed at Beatson Clark's Rotherham facility by a skilled team of mechanical contract engineers and is expected to begin operations by the end of the month.
The K25 will replace an existing model that the firm has been using since 1996, and follows a £2m investment in a new glass line that was installed earlier this year by the skilled mechanical engineers and sucessfully installed.
'While the old machine is still performing to a high standard, the opportunity is being taken to install the latest model that will give us greater quality control than ever before,' said production manager Tim Swetman. The machines maintenance needs are also covered by the contract engineers who are able to carry out pro active and re active maintenance needs to suit the requirements of the customer.
The K25 uses electronics to provide more controllability to the product forming process, as well as mould and blank cooling.
