published on 19/11/09 A small team of contract engineers are to install a second machine for paper and cardboard printer Kentmere Packaging after they invested £1.5m in a second Manroland press to improve colour consistency and reduce waste.
The six-colour-plus-coater Roland 706 LV will be installed by the mechanical engineers and up and running within two weeks and is the investment for the Cumbria-based company.
Kentmere managing director Shaun Mulvaney said it was a natural choice to stay with Manroland for a second machine. 'The build quality of Manroland presses is excellent and the level of innovation in the latest generation presses is striking,' he said. “ The contract engineers install the machines with ease and carry out any pro active and re active maintenance as needed”
Established in 1906, Kentmere produces packaging for a wide range of markets including food, confectionery, toiletries and supplies most of the major supermarket retailers. It employs 55 people and has a turnover of £6m.
Earlier this year the contract mechanical engineers sucessfully installed a Bobst gluer for the company, its investment programme also includes new vehicles for its distribution fleet.
