published on 04/11/09 Pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging company Nampak Healthcare has invested in new machines and created 30 new jobs in the former Storey Evans facility it acquired last year. The new machines were installed by a team of mechanical contract engineers from a local outsource provider.
The manufacturer has spent over £4m on a new Komori S40 press and a Heidelberg Diana Pro gluing machine for the Bradford plant. The machines were sucessfully installed by the engineers well within the allocated time much to the delight of the compnay. A spokeswoman said that compatibility and efficiency were the key elements in choosing the new kit.
Gerard Harford, Nampak Healthcare Regional Director UK, said becoming part of the global Nampak Group had brought the business a number of significant benefits.
'We have acquired extra business - now over £19m sales with major blue chip pharmaceutical customers - which has enabled us to create 30 new roles and give greater security to existing jobs,' he said and added that the contract engineers had done a splendid job installing the 2 new machines and overseeing the maintenance needs within the factory.
The Bradford facility is now the largest in Nampak's Healthcare division, employing 210 people.
