A team of mechanical contract engineers have sucessfully installed a packaging line for a fruit juice manufacturer. Cobell, the Exeter-based supplier of premium fruit juice concentrates, purées and whole fruits, has installed a £500,000 aseptic packaging line at its Marsh Barton headquarters.
The line, which was commissioned and by KGD in Herefordshire and installed by the contract engineers who are from a local outsource provider and includes components from APV in Crawley and Flexifill in Bristol, is one of four in the UK and the first to be used for small runs down to 200 litres.
The line has been running production for two years now and the contract mechanical engineers also oversee any pro active and re active maintenance requirements.

At full production speed, the line will be able to fill 8,000 litres a day, six days a week.
