published on 04/12/09 A contract engineer from a local outsource provider has just installed a servo-driven feeding system for a Yorkshire company who specialises in the growing of tomatoes. A manufacturer of conveyors and product handling equipment based in Hull came up with the system for the company which has doubled the rate of a tomato handling machine
The mechanical contract engineer installed the servo-driven feeding system which is suitable for tomatoes and similar products, delivering packs upto 120 per minute into an Ulma Atlanta flow-wrapper. The contract engineer from an engineering company is also available as part of team and can supplement any company’s existing engineering team to cover holidays and sickness.
The speed of the conveyor must be co-ordinated with the speed and the timing of the Ulma Atlantic Flow wrapper to ensure that the tomatoes are delivered to the flow-wrapper at exactly the right time. Any requires machine settings can be entered and stored in the pre-programmed product menu. The contract engineer is also on hand to offer pro active and re active maintenance support. From a green perspective, the system also delivers and packs fruit unsupported.
