Honeytop Speciality Foods Ltd, manufacturers of authentic naans and flatbreads, invited Astec Conveyors to design a conveying system to integrate packaging equipment, taking discharged product from flow wrappers in the production hall, through the warehouse.
The New conveying system has been installed by a group of highly skilled mechanical engineers from a local engineering outsource provider. The mechanical engineers have between them over 20 years experience and the project was superbly engineered and completed to time and budget causing minimal disruption.
Four flow wrapping machines were located in a restricted passageway area, between two parallel RG Luma Automation line for picking/stacking of crumpets prior to wrapping. Astec overcame these integration difficulties by having the outer machine guarding on the robot line modified to create a passage way. A bespoke stainless steel conveying system and controls were designed in house that automatically allows conveyor speed changes to suit production.
Wrapped product passes down a chute along a series of low and overhead food quality modular plastic belt and slat bends, to the warehouse, check weighed and hand palletising.
