published on 15/09/10
Food packaging firm Interflex has upgraded its bread bag making line following a £600,000 investment.
Interflex managing director Graham Tilley said that the equipment, which is due to be installed by a team of contract engineers, would improve the firm’s capacity and range of products at the site and also safeguards 20 jobs. The site has a workforce of 110.
'The team at Interflex has worked really hard to deliver the efficiency improvements that were needed,' said Tilley.
'This investment demonstrates Interflex’s continued commitment to the business and enables us to continue with the development of the site and undertake further expansion.'
One North East director of business and industry Ian Williams added: 'There is a growing market for flexible printed packaging for the food industry due to demands to have lighter packaging for their products.'
