Conveying System Improves Efficiency

published on 18/01/12
A new conveying system has formed part of a major investment at a UK cider plant and helped to improve efficiency.
Following increased demand for bottled ciders, a UK company has invested in cutting edge machinery to deliver to the fill, cap and labelling of its bottles. This has enabled production to go from 6,500 bottles per hour to an amazing 20,000 bottles per hour.
The equipment took 2 months to install by a local engineering services company, from the install of the table-less design which is very hygienic an accurate. It features table-less probe technology, automated cleaning and lightweight change parts allowing for the capper changed to be made to a variety of bottle types. Camera technology enable bottle position to be detected within the conveyor system, this enables the label position to be accurate on each bottle. The line is complemented with a pressure less combiner conveyor system to transport multiple lanes of bottles into a smooth single flow stream via smart sensor technology.
The outsourced engineers have been commissioned as the main contractor who undertook the project with over 20 year’s experience of project management. They provided a skilled and adaptable mechanical resource for the short time this project was on site.
