Robots within the Food Industry

The use of robots and automation systems within the food and drinks industry is becoming increasingly utilised to improve line efficiency and productivity.

A systems integrator based in the Northwest of England is able to provide conveying, line remodelling and end of line machinery that meets the increased productivity required. The experienced engineers have over thirty years of integration experience and have formed alliances with machinery manufacturers who are at the forefront of providing automated systems. By integrating these into existing production lines, enables food and drink manufacturers to more manual and repetitive tasks become obsolete. The human error is eliminated improving productivity, consistency of product, reducing damage and give away.

The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) have reported that 46% of workers jobs were at a high risk due to the introduction of automated systems by 2030. The head of technology at PricewaterhouseCoopers claimed “There is no doubt that artificial intelligence and robotics will rebalance what jobs look like in the future, and that some are more susceptible than others.” The creation of jobs will be in the more skilled areas, and the gains will be in upskilling existing employees to improve productivity levels of the industry.
